Spotlight on Coventry Very Light RailVery light rail is a new and entirely electric concept that is planned for Coventry. Very light rail vehicles will be operating throughout Coventry with 3-D simulations of this innovative light rail vehicle being unveiled just last year.

As the simulations would suggest, this innovative light rail vehicle has been developed through researchers at W MG or the University of Warwick. The project was developed under a transport design international initiative and the light rail would be a system that is entirely battery-powered. The long-term goal on Coventry very light rail would be to not only produce electric rail vehicles but also vehicles that would become completely a time’s. As the vehicles were able to operate more intelligently, the system could introduce the perfect option for commuters with some of the finest efficiency from any light rail system in the country.

The very light rail system would be able to hold roughly 50 passengers and work in a system just like the London underground. Passengers could quickly hop on and hop off at any station without a set timetable. The very light rail would create jobs in the initial stages with regards to constructing the trams. Even though the trams may run without human intervention one day, in the earliest stages, they will require human drivers and a large group to make up the manufacturing on the trams too.

The overall system will be much more affordable to run. It could stand as a massive innovation for travel and it will also be much more affordable over the installation of more traditional trams. The smaller electric trams will take up less space and they can run closer to traffic so that there can be less congestion from trams on the roadways too.

Because there would not be a need for an overhead power supply, there could be non-electrified routes included with the design of the tram as well. Funding for the project has been coming out of the West Midlands combined authorities deal and the government is also continuing to feed funds into the Coventry. Light rail system. The first vehicle is set to roll out in the middle of 2020 and a new track system is also being designed for use with the battery-operated tramps.

Coventry light rail would bring together a series of technologies and unite a series of sectors within the transportation industry to build a transportation system that could solve many problems within Coventry’s light rail system.

The new 3-D simulations and the testing that is occurring on these trams before mass manufacturing is leading the promising results. It should be just a matter of time before the vehicle is properly tested at a test track facility and unveiled to the public.

The future of public transportation looks bright thanks to the very light rail system. It will be interesting to see how electric transportation throughout the UK evolves as a result of this project.
