What is a Current Transducer?Current transducers are responsible for providing DC current and voltage output that are directly proportionate to the AC input current. These are often the inexpensive version of transducers because they work to convert the AC energy into DC current and the output calibration is designed to match the root mean square of the sine wave input. This type of transducer is adequate for a variety of equipment that is not typically sensitive. If there is a need for regular power output in which the wave shape can be distorted, this can provide decent power generation without the option for completely consistent results. With harmonic discontinuities that can occur, these types of transducers can sometimes create error messages on sensitive medical equipment and some electronics. True RMS Transducers

This style of transducer calculates the RMS value based on the current input and then provides a DC output which is proportional to the value of that input. It is very little in the way of distortion and this device will always produce the same current output based on the settings associate don the model.
